For Librarians and Library Staff interested in:
- Green Practices in library services, such as recycling and use of non-toxic materials
- Providing Information and Resources on green living and working to library communities, parent institutions and patrons through resource guides, lectures and other events.
The Green Librarianship SIG will provide a forum for sharing information on green resources and practices for libraries and their patrons, and for developing solutions and programs that address challenges to green practice, e.g. by forming buying co-ops or consortia for non-toxic or recycled library materials (e.g printing paper).
We will occasionally invite speakers from organizations, vendors or community groups who can provide expertise on any of these issues.
