Each year METRO offers a diverse range of training programs to help our members develop professional skills in the areas of technology, management, leadership, communications, and library operations. Our programs are designed to be timely, convenient and affordable, and are led by renowned and accomplished industry and academic professionals.

Through classes, seminars and online learning programs, library professionals at all levels -- from recent graduates to library directors -- can explore the critical issues affecting their organizations and their careers. METRO programs have helped hundreds of librarians, library support staff and other information science professionals to prepare for changing roles and broader professional opportunities. Many programs are specifically designed to help library support staff expand their skills and prepare for broader professional responsibilities. METRO professional development programs are often a great way to meet new colleagues and develop valuable industry contacts.

METRO continually works to assess and respond to member needs in developing new training. Browse the calendar of professional development programs here.
